SAFE promotes the energy transition at the presence of the Italian Minister Francesco Boccia

The kick off of SAFE project “A path to support the energy transition”, realized in collaboration with Elettricità Futura – Italian association for electric companies, was held at the presence of the Italian Minister of Regional Affairs and Autonomies, Francesco Boccia, and the top management of the main energy companies and utilities.

The project, set into the complex transformation that the energy sector is facing, intends to foster the discussion between Italian Institutions (at all level) and the energy companies, aiming at creating concrete proposals and more effective communication to foster energy transition and sustainability.

SAFE President, Raffaele Chiulli, opened the session and  highlighted the importance of the project, which is to “activate an open, constructive and operational discussion on specific key factors for achieving national energy and climate targets”, among which, simplification and streamlining of the authorization process, raising awareness to all stakeholders involved, while encouraging and valorizing the Italian renewables value chain.

“Thanks to SAFE for this very worthwhile and pragmatic discussion” – that’s how the Minister for Regional Affairs and Autonomies, Francesco Boccia described the meeting, who also pointed out how it is – “essential to give an objective value to the decarbonization process, taking advantage of all the opportunities opened up by the energy transition and building a path that sees us as protagonists.”

The top management of the following companies are fully supporting the SAFE project: A2A, Axpo, EBS, Edison, EDP Renewables, Elettricità Futura, Enel Green Power, ERG, Hera, RWE Renewables Italia, Utilitalia.
