Context

On the occasion of the Opening Ceremony, marking the XXII edition of the postgraduate programme in “Energy Resources Management”, SAFE organizes a workshop on the significant synergies between motorsports, innovation, technology and sustainable mobility.

Today’s racing vehicles are prototypes in which engineering and technological solutions are conceived, implemented, tested and perfected. Many of these innovations have found industrial applications, confirming that innovation is deeply rooted in the DNA of these sports.

The increasing public awareness on environmental issues has acted as catalyst for the latest international motorsport competitions driving innovative solutions to address the climate crisis and a more sustainable future. The most successful and interesting initiatives are certainly the Formula E World Championship, FIM ENEL Moto World Cup, Extreme E and the E1 World Electric Powerboat Series.

In this context, key personalities from International Sport Federations, institutions, enterprises discuss how e-motorsports have the power to catalyse sustainable mobility development enhancing technological innovation and engaging communities into this new (r)evolution.
