Opening Ceremony of the Master SAFE
Opening Ceremony of the Master SAFE in Energy Resource Management, now in its 27th edition, is much more than a mere kick-off event: it is a high-level moment of encounter and exchange, marking the start of a unique educational journey. Over the years, SAFE has had the honor of launching new editions in exclusive and prestigious settings, including the Sala del Refettorio of the Chamber of Deputies, the iconic Ara Pacis, the American Embassy and the evocative Villa Erba in Como. These events have featured distinguished guests and internationally renowned keynote speakers, including the Minister of MASE, Gilberto Pichetto Fratin, former UN Secretary-General Ban Ki-moon and numerous CEOs and Chairmen of major companies in the energy and sustainability sector such as Edison, SNAM and ARERA.
2025
XVIII edizione della SAFE CUP con campioni dello sport
- 18th edition of the SAFE CUP with sports champions: a new edition of the sport & virtuous networking event, which brings together each year teams from more than 50 energy and environment sector organizations: institutions, associations and companies. Special guests include Manuel Bortuzzo, Paralympic athlete and bronze medallist at Paris 2024, young Olympic champion and Paris 2024 silver medallist Giorgia Villa, and Fabio Conti, Director of the Italian Women’s National Water Polo team “Setterosa”. Previous editions also hosted great guests such as the well-known singer Al Bano.
- SAFE Editorial: launch of “SAFE Editorial”, featuring technical-scientific articles dedicated to the world of energy.
- New SAFE Formats: Launch of new formats: SAFE Talk (a Chatham House style round table) and Leaders Breakfast, exclusive gatherings dedicated to the SAFE Network, featuring prominent personalities to discuss major current strategic themes.

20th edition of the Master in Energy Resource Management: SAFE celebrates the XX edition of the Master with a ceremony on the theme of the Energy Transition at the MAXXI Museum in Rome.

Presentation of “Portrait of the Electric Energy Consumer: a survey between knowledge and perception”, a study conducted in collaboration with Electricità Futura to investigate Italians’ level of knowledge and perception on some of the most relevant current themes in the sector.

SAFE and ENEA sign a Memorandum of Understanding for strategic development in the areas of energy and environment. The agreement was born from the complementary areas of expertise and positive past collaborations between the two organisations.

Training Ship Amerigo Vespucci: SAFE had the honour of hosting the closing ceremony of the 13th edition of the Master on board the magnificent Italian Navy tall ship Nave Scuola Amerigo Vespucci, moored for the occasion at the port of Civitavecchia.

150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy
150th Anniversary of the Unification of Italy: Adriano Piglia and Laura Cardinali, authors of the book “150 years of energy in Italy”, and Riccardo Ballesio, were received by the President of the Republic Giorgio Napolitano, receiving significant commendation during the meeting “Balance and the meaning of the celebrations for the 150th anniversary of the Unification of Italy” held in the Salone dei Corazzieri at the Quirinale Palace.

1st edition of the “SAFE CUP – The Energy Tournament”: The annual sport tournament that brings together teams from major players in the energy sector in a 5-a-side football and beach volleyball competition promoting the authentic values of sport.

First issue of the SAFE Newsletter: Conceived and published for the first time, the newsletter has for years been telling the story of the sector through news, interviews and images.

Emission Trading Event
Emission Trading Event: SAFE organises an event on Emission Trading at Palazzo Farnese in Rome (French Embassy in Italy). Two years later, in collaboration with the Italian Ministry of Environment, SAFE launches the MET – Management of Emissions Trading project, to provide smaller companies with training and information on the subject.

Expansion of training areas
Expansion of training areas: The Master in “Exploration and Production of Hydrocarbons” becomes the Master in “Energy Resource Management”, expanding its scope to all energy sources.

Oil & Gas Workshop: SAFE organises the first workshop dedicated to the Oil & Gas sector.
